Google adds Priority Inbox to Gmail mobile app

Priority Inbox Mobile

The mobile phone’s relatively small screen makes it a tad difficult to browse through numerous e-mails residing in the ever teeming inbox. In order to counter this nagging problem, the Gmail mobile web app now comes with Priority Inbox. This new feature is said to smoothly combat information overload problems, according to the official Google Mobile blog.

This feature automatically filters important messages from a pool of messages so that users can focus on the former first. Priority Inbox must first be set up within the desktop version of Gmail before it can be accessed on a phone’s browser. Once signed in to mobile Gmail, clicking on the ‘Menu’ option enables users to easily pick out crucial messages due to the markers set against them in the inbox.

Earlier, this facility was only available for Android devices and desktops. The Priority Inbox feature is now accessible by most mobile browsers that support HTML5 including devices powered by Android 1.5 and all its future versions or iOS 3 and later versions.
