General Mobile’s Dual-SIM DSTL1 Android smartphone for US, Turkey confirmed for June release

DSTL Android smartphoneThe end of June will see the availability of the DSTL1, a dual-SIM Android-powered smartphone in U.S. and Turkey according to an announcement made by General Mobile reported by MobileBurn. Google’s Andoid v1.5 “Cupcake” operating system will run with ease, thanks to a 624MHz Marvell PX310A processor featured by the DSTL1. It possesses a high-resolution 5 megapixel autofocus camera for excellent picture clarity and a brilliant 3.0 inch WQVGA LCDresistive touchscreen display developed by Sharp. The device has a 4GB microSD card expandable to 16GB.

The model anticipated in June includes 2.5G connectivity with tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/EDGE support. A spokesperson from General Mobile stated that the phone will also be offered in a version that supports both the 850MHz and 1900MHz GSM bands for the U.S., later on.

The price tag of the DSTL1 is expected to be anywhere between US$550 and $750, depending on the market. There are plans to release this device in Russia and Germany after the initial U.S. and Turkey release.
