Garmin Asus G60 to enter markets this August

Garmin Asus NuvifoneG60Garmin and Asus jointly publicized that the Nuviphone G60 would be available from August. The Linux based G60 has been postponed citing some hardware complications. Both these companies aim at resolving this problem by shifting to the Google Android platform.

Slashgear reports that the handset is based on the GSM technology and features a 3.5” touchscreen, GPS receiver, and built-in maps. It offers 3G connection, allowing users to obtain information about real-time traffic and fuel prices. Moreover it also sports a web browser, messaging application and a host of multimedia options. It is built with a 3 megapixel camera with auto focus capabilities.

The phone possesses a dual band 3.5G triband along with Garmin SatNav. It supports Wi-Fi connectivity and push e-mail. Further it offers document viewing and also Bluetooth capabilities. The pair would also launch the Nuviphone M20, which focuses on providing enhanced navigation.

The price of these smartphones is not yet disclosed. As for the Nuviphone M20, it would reach the markets in the second half of this year.
