Facebook security update for mobile rolled out

Facebook Security Update 01

Facebook security updates have arrived for the SNS’ mobile apps to make for a safe social networking experience on-the-go. Basically, the improvements are aimed at making the mobile experience similar to that seen while accessing the SNS on desktops.

Firstly, the Login Approvals function for Facebook apps now includes the Code Generator. With this the login approval codes will be sent directly via the application, mitigating the need to await an SMS. Moreover, this tool is expected to work irrespective of whether there’s access to the web or a cellular network, or not. For now, the feature is available just for Android devices, though it may reach other platforms soon enough.

“At Facebook we are always working to improve our systems and products so you can use them anywhere, any time, and on any device. We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few months making sure that your mobile experience is just as good as when you’re at home sitting at your computer. As such, we are happy to announce a few improvements to our safety and security products that will now be available to the nearly half billion users that access our site using a mobile device,” says the Facebook Security update.

Facebook Security Update 02

Those perusing the SNS on their touch devices can report or hide any of the undesired information seen in the news feed. In cases such as unauthorized access or hacking, the damage done can be controlled by reviewing the login and resetting the password through the concerned phone. Initially the social authentication tool worked just for desktops, but it is now readily accessible via phones. Essentially, users can lock their accounts and restore any of the issues seen on their posts.

The Facebook security updates are now available for the SNS’ mobile apps.
