Facebook Home for Android app updated

Those who have been disappointed with the much-hyped Facebook Home for Android app should check it out now as it received certain updates on June 7. Along with this, Facebook has introduced certain changes for its primary product for Google’s platform as well.

Although the application in question was launched with much fanfare back in April, it failed to impress those who tried it. Mark Zuckerberg and company seem to have paid heed to all the complaints and rolled out new features for better functionality. And apart from Facebook Home, the traditional application and its Messenger have also been upgraded. In order to make the most of all the new features of the latest application, users will have to first install updates for the two aforementioned programs.

For starters, the guys over at Menlo Park have decided to fix the bugs that have been hampering the app’s working. Additionally, a new feature has been added to the mix for allowing users to customize their launcher. The software now accommodates a favorites tray in which subscribers can drag all of their frequently-used utilities for instant access.

As far as the traditional Facebook app is concerned, the social network has bestowed it with the ability to send more than a single picture in a message. A dedicated ‘+’ key facilitates this particular function. People who do not want everyone to see whatever they are sharing on the timeline, can easily change the settings to ensure only select friends get to see a particular post. Issues concerning stability and memory have also been addressed through the upgrade.

For refresher’s sake, Facebook Home replaces an Android device’s homescreen and brings friends’ updates along. It lets people chat even when they are using other applications. Bigger and bolder notifications should ensure that they do not miss out on updates. The program simplifies posting updates on the SNS as well.

Some of the issues with the Home app have been resolved with this update and we are hoping that the developers will introduce more changes in the future for an even better experience. The application is available for select Android devices including the Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2, HTS One X and X+ through the Google Play store.
