After updating its app on most mobile platforms, the Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook application is next in line to receive an upgrade. Playbook tablet owners will now be able to experience better functionalities and new features with the app’s version 2.1.
According to the official BlackBerry blog, an element that was often requested by users was Facebook Groups which is now ready to make its debut with this upgrade. This particular offering allows tablet owners to share and communicate with those groups that they are most interested in.
Facebook Groups lets users execute various functions such as viewing factions that they’re part of, seeing profiles of members and posting updates, pictures and videos. They are also able to send messages as well as get notifications pertaining to new group posts and interactions so that users always remain up to date with whatever is happening on the social networking website.
The blog states that since the company received some complaints regarding the quality of media viewing and uploading in the application, it has done the needful changes. New photo and video buttons have been added so that the process of viewing the friends’ media content from their profiles becomes much simpler and more convenient than before. Furthermore the video and photo uploading capabilities can now be viewed on the Photo tab and accessed via the users’ Profile or Photos feature placed on the navigation grid.
The refreshed Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook app can now be downloaded for free from the BlackBerry App World.
