The social networking site is attempting to augment its service for handset owners, as most of the times users access Facebook via their mobile browsers. For long now, Android owners have been indulging in their virtual social life using the Facebook app.
Today, according to the official Facebook page of ‘Facebook for Android’ a version 1.5 has hit the Android Market. Upgrading from the version 1.4 that was seen in November, Android based handset owners can indulge in the fresh attributes of the latest upgrade. It brings along a new chat with a background mode and push notifications.
The included Chat featuring background mode now lets users access chat whilst other apps run in the background. The push notifications however will only work on devices supporting Android 2.2 Froyo. Social butterflies using Android-enabled smartphones can head over to the Android Market to download the version 1.5 of Facebook for Android.
