Prospective users probably want to get their hands on the latest high-end smartphones available but stop right in their tracks owing to sky-rocketing prices, well the Extru Low Cost phone aims at fixing just that. Designed by Sudhanwa Chavan, the device will not only be feasible, but also would not compromise on the technological aspect of it.

The mobile phone has been titled as Extru, probably owing to its aluminum extrusion that the design incorporates. A post on Yanko design brings to light the device’s form factor that includes materials that render it cost-efficient along with reduction in manufacturing processes. The exterior of the device, carved out of punched aluminum extrusion, holds the assembly parts together.

The aluminum extrusion that has been punched for numbers is fitted with a base unit that is complete with elevated touch controls. The base unit has the basic control buttons and is integrated with a case to protect speakers. The unit is also included with a camera lens protection.

The exterior extrusion that adorns a metallic finish, protects the base unit by keeping it from touching surfaces. This helps in keeping the base graphics and camera lens cover, protected. The device’s keypad glows when touched and the front panel is embedded with a screen that colors when not in use. Further, the screen becomes neutral when there is an incoming call.

The Extru Low Cost Phone sports a simple yet smart design and may probably find its set of prospective users.
