Vodafone had revealed some affordable plans for calling and messaging in the Indian market some time back. Joining the league is Chatr wireless which annunciated it’s entry into the Canadian market with minimum rate plans. The service will apparently allow users to stay in touch with their friends and relatives more often.
With zone-based plans, users can enjoy unlimited calling for $35 per month and unlimited talk added with text for a mere $45 per month. The plans are available in cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Ottawa and later in Montreal. In the near future this service will be available in other Canadian markets as well.
“Canadians have indicated they want unlimited talk and text with simple, worry-free plans on a network that is trusted to deliver quality service. With chatr, customers will have a no worry, talk happy experience,” mentioned Garrick Tiplady, Senior Vice President, chatr.
He further explained, “With chatr, customers can use their phones freely, never having to think about how many minutes they’ve used or how many texts they’ve sent. They’ll benefit from cost certainty knowing that when they use their phones within their chatr zones, they’ll pay just one low flat fee without any extra charges.”
Presently functioning on the global standard of GSM and HSPA technology platforms, users can also purchase mobile phones at affordable prices through the company itself. With a combination of 3G technology and worry-free talk and text capabilities, users can experience less call drops than any wireless network as it exerts more cellular sites, improved coverage in indoors as well as undergrounds and a seamless Canadian network.
The company will offer mobile phones starting at a price of $60 such as Nokia 1661 and 2680, LG GB125r and Samsung Gravity. With a bright orange talk bubble logo, the company promises to introduce ‘no worries, talk happy’ phone plans for its customers in the near future.
The Chatr Wireless service is available in all major malls and hundreds of retail locations. Wireless Wave, Future Shop, Best Buy, Telephone Booth, London Drugs, Wireless Etc… (Costco) and Zellers are the partners included for this service.
