Most retro games have recently been making their presence felt again with a comeback. Following this trend Elite Systems has launched Jet Set Willy a Matthew Smith signature ZX Spectrum game from 1984 as a stand-alone app for all iOS devices.
Jet Set Willy is an original ZX Spectrum game and is brought as an officially licensed product which employs the ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection technology. The game features iDaptive that is user-definable, game-specific joystick, keypad and canvas Controls, auto-save on exiting game, portrait and landscape modes and separate infinite-lives version.
This game is a sequel to the famous Manic Miner and is the second game in the popular Miner Willy series. According to the game plot, a tired Miner Willy has to pick up all the items strewn around in his home after a big party. Only then his housekeeper Maria will allow him to enter his bedroom in the mansion which he bought using the wealth obtained from his adventures in Manic Miner.
The mansion appears to be filled with bizarre creatures as a possible result of the previous missing owner’s experiments. Players must traverse the entire mansion including a beach and a yacht to fully tidy up the house so that Willy can get some much-needed sleep. Willy forfeits a chance if he touches an enemy or falls from a height, and the user has to return to the point where he entered the room. With Willy repeatedly falling from a height the game could reach an uncalled for ending.
