Dropbox cloud-storage solution now as an iPhone app

Dropbox iPhone App Popular cloud based online storage solution Dropbox is now offered as an iPhone app, enabling iPhone users to access their Dropbox account right from their Apple device.

The easy and convenient cross-platform cloud storage and sharing capabilities of the app make it more user-friendly. According to Mashable, the Dropbox is not a standalone app, prompting users to create a free 2GB Dropbox account if they do not own one. Users can then view files, listen to music or watch videos stored in their Dropbox folder from the iPhone.

The desktop version of this cloud storage solution explores the automatic sync capability of Dropbox to the fullest. However due to the limited space on the iPhone, the app doesn’t actively sync the entire Dropbox collection. Nevertheless it supports automatic downloads to the iPhone and by tagging a Dropbox file as ‘favorite’, it is set to auto-sync. Further, whenever a new version of the file is available on Dropbox, users will be informed via the app and encouraged to sync.

The app also facilitates users to share their Dropbox files by email just by a click. Further, it presents a photo gallery view enabling users to browse through images in their Dropbox account on their handset effortlessly. Uploading images and videos right on the Dropbox is also made possible with this app and users can share them with friends and family by integrating with Shared folders.

Users can download the iPhone app for free from the Apple App Store.
