Dell Streak Pro smartphone disclosed in China

Dell Streak Pro

The smartphone market in China seems to be ever expanding, and adding to the sea of handsets is the recently launched Dell Streak Pro. This mobile device has been built as a follow up to the Dell Streak 10 tablet that was released earlier this year in the country.

According to the official Dell community blog, this new device has been declared first in China as it is said to be the world’s largest smartphone market and the nation is a primary component as far as the company’s marketing strategy goes. Introduced in Beijing, the Streak Pro is integrated with a 4.3-inch 960 x 540p Super AMOLED touchscreen crafted from Corning Gorilla Glass. Users can easily view contents on the display even in bright sunlight.

The Dell mobile device is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and runs on the 3G+ network. Furthermore, this offering is noted to be the first smartphone based on the Baidu-Yi mobile platform. The Corning Gorilla Glass exterior of this smartphone is said to provide extra toughness and durability.

The company states that it combined solid hardware with the flexible Baidu-Yi mobile platform and came up with this smartphone to meet the needs of Chinese customers. With the new mobile platform, users can enjoy some of the most well known Baidu services such as the Ting music service. The applications employ the localized cloud services which are part of the mobile OS platform.

The Dell Streak Pro smartphone is scheduled to be available soon for China Unicom customers through Dell.com/cn and other such designated channels. There is no word on its availability in other countries as of now.
