Daylight Saving Glitch on Mobile Phones leaves Aussies baffled

Daylight saving glitch on mobiles Imagine a day on which your mobile phone displays an incorrect time and you miss out on a flight or an important meeting. That’s exactly what happened to mobile phone users in Australia.

Daylight saving is expected to end next week in most of the states in Australia, however the mobile phones turned back their clocks one hour earlier as per the normal date which is 30th March and it created lots of confusion in Australia. It is advisable that mobile phone users can change the time manually to fix the current issue.

“We work to capture all daylight saving time from around the world and to have them hard-wired into the phone,” said Nokia spokeswoman Louise Ingram. “Unfortunately, daylight saving dates sometimes change and that’s where the problem occurs.”

This error not only occurred on mobile phones, but also targeted various computers and websites. Six Qantas flights were delayed by 1½ hours as the check-in systems were behind time also resulting in confusion due to the errors on their check-in systems as well.
