People who are keen on notching up the security in heir house may be interested in reading this news. D-Link unveiled the D-Link 3G Door Phone (DWM-351). This latest innovation from D-Link will augment the level of security surveillance in home a little higher by distantly binding homeowners to their front doors.
This device behaves and runs like a normal doorbell. It is claimed to be the first doorbell of its kind to enable homeowners to see visitors to their property from wherever they are be it home or somewhere else by means of their PC or 3G-enabled handsets.
Will Brown, vice president and general manager, D-Link Service Provider Business Unit, commented, “With only one button and a slim design, the 3G Door Phone is the ideal security and communications device for homeowners. It is the first of it’s kind doorbell that serves as an outdoor intercom, allowing homeowners to monitor, see and talk through their 3G phones from wherever they may be.”
An en suite fixed focus, 0.1 megapixel CMOS camera clicks pictures of visitors and streams the particulars to the PC or 3G mobile phone. It enables the owners to see and speak to visitors in three diverse modes namely snapshot, two-way voice call and one-way 3G video. With the 3G Door Phone, user has the alternative of not answering the call, but can instead capture a photograph of the visitor. It also facilitates the owner to dial in remotely to observe the front door.
The device is installed and it runs just like a conventional doorbell except that it is equipped with a 3G card slot, camera, speaker and microphone. Enclosed in IP65 waterproof housing, the 3G Door Phone encompasses a LED indicator that enables the homeowner to know that the device is functioning and an illuminated button lets effortless visibility when it is dark outside.
The D-Link 3G Door Phone can be purchased via D-Link providers. The price is currently not clear.
