Price and availability details of the LG Optimus Regard have surfaced officially via Cricket Wireless and the device has gone on to become the carrier’s first 4G LTE phone. The service provider has also revealed the availability status of its second 4G LTE-enabled device, the Samsung Galaxy S3 which will hit store shelves on November 23.
Available off-contract, the handset that measures merely 0.45 inches in thickness, has been outfitted with an HVGA display that provides a multi-touch real estate of 3.5 inches. It claims to project clear images in 480 x 320p resolution and has a Corning Gorilla Glass film to keep scratches at bay. Additionally, it is blessed with a VGA front-facing webcam. So users can engage in video conferencing, click self portraits and even record HD videos.
A 1.2GHz dual core processor rests under the hood and works in conjunction with 1GB of RAM to facilitate multitasking and smooth navigation. There is even a 5MP primary snapper that possesses all the necessary features like LED flash, auto focus, digital zoom and the ability to shoot 1080p HD videos. And if that’s not enough, it boasts of Cheese Shutter to click images by recognizing speech and Time Catch Shot to capture photos even before the shutter button is pressed.
The Optimus Regard treats itself to a generous scoop of the Ice Cream Sandwich platform. And need we mention that it allows prospective users to access and download applications from the Google Play store and brings multiple Google Mobile services? Its 8GB internal memory can easily be expanded through the dedicated slot compatible with a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity.
It has Bluetooth for wireless file transfer and DLNA for streaming digital content to compatible devices.
