The HTC One SV price and release date information has been declared through the US-based carrier, Cricket. It has also arrived for UK buyers through Clove.
In this age of Jelly Bean, the One SV runs on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. This should supposedly push the smartphone under the mid-range category. It houses a 480 x 800p 4.3-inch super LCD 2 touchscreen display that lies under a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protective layer and shows off the company’s Sense 4 UI.
A dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz and 1GB of DDR2 RAM together contribute towards the handset’s performance. When it comes to memory, an internal storage capacity of 8GB has been provided in addition to a microSD card slot that allows expansion of up to 32GB.
The embedded 5MP rear-facing camera packs features such as auto focus, a BSI sensor and an LED flash. A 1.6MP webcam found on the front panel should suffice to carry out live one-on-one video chat and it also facilitates recording clips at 720 pixels.
Users will be able to share content by just tapping the handset with other NFC-enabled devices. Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS with GLONASS have also been included. The Taiwanese manufacturer has fitted a 1,800mAh battery within the 122g phone, but makes no statement concerning the talk time or standby it is capable of delivering.
Cricket will be selling the HTC One SV at a price of $349.99 starting from January 16, 2013. The smartphone will also be available on the service provider’s 4G LTE service for a limited period. Users can subscribe to the Android Double Data Rate tariff which permits usage of up to 2GB of full-speed data at $50 or the $60 scheme that allows consumption of about 5GB. They can moreover make use of roughly 10GB of full-speed data for $70 a month.
