A new application called the ClayTracker for Sporting Clays shooters has been introduced. This is the first hand-held application for mobile phones for clay target shooters.

”Scoring for clay target sports hasn’t changed in 100 years. The iPhone is an ideal scoring device since it allows the trapper to launch targets with the remote in one hand while keeping score on the iPhone with the other,” quoted Tom Carter, president of EXPOGO, Inc., the company that developed the program.

He further added, ”Last December, I was looking for a scoring app for my iPhone and was surprised that I couldn’t find one. My 12 year-old son and shooting partner, T.J., suggested that we develop it since our company is in the product design and graphics business. We began working with our design team researching the scoring and tracking needs for the average Sporting Clays shooter, then hired an iPhone software development firm to write the code.”

He concluded by stating, “We are already developing scoring for Skeet, Trap, and FITASC, plus many additional features that will be available as free upgrades when released.”

The application will assist users to score rounds, track percentages along with reviewing history with touch screen simplicity. It is a highly simple as well as convenient solution for shooters to keep a track on their progress and score.

The ClayTracker application is offered for the iPhone and iPod Touch via the iTunes App Store for $19.99.
