Back in the month of September, Tata DoCoMo had pulled in the Alcatel OneTouch Net Phone to offer its subscribers a wider choice of devices. Today, Tata Teleservices and Fly Mobile have joined hands to unfurl the CG588 on Indian soils. This dual SIM device proffering a CDMA+GSM combination supports both voice and data with speeds up to 153Kbps on the same bandwidth configuration.

Fitted with a QWERTY keypad and five-way navigation, the handset also flaunts dedicated camera and volume keys. It adorns a 5.8cm 262K color TFT display and enables mobile enthusiasts to snap up images with its 1.3 megapixel camera and featuring video recording capabilities. It offers a multitude of storage capacity with an expandable memory of up to 4GB. Rendering WAP and Bluetooth support, the phone bundles up functionalities like FM radio, MP3 audio player, along with a 3.5-mm universal audio jack.

With the help of the CDMA USB modem, handset owners can connect the CG588 to the computer for internet browsing. Powered by a 1500 mAH battery, it provides up to 8 hours of talk-time on CDMA and GSM networks and 300 hours of standby time. Moreover, Fly Buzz proffers a blend of Nimbuzz! and Snaptu apps which load up on Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk, Yahoo! and MSN Messenger, Flickr, among others.

The Fly CG588 carries a price tag of Rs 4,795 and comes with Tata Indicom’s offer endowing users voice and data usage. After the initial recharge of Rs 104, subscribers can enjoy 250 Local Off Net minutes, 1GB free data usage, 250 local On Net minutes, and 250 SMSs worth Rs. 1,500.
