C Spire is offering the 16GB iPhone 4S version for $50 less than what it actually costs. This might generate renewed interest among Apple aficionados looking to buy this new smartphone and probably contribute to boosting its sales.

The iPhone 4S was originally launched in October last year, amidst a host of other fresh features like digital assistant Siri, iOS 5, iMessage and more. While prior speculations suggested an original iPhone 5 was due, the October 5 event brought forth an upgraded edition of the previous iPhone 4. This may have managed to disappoint a few, but the sales figures told a different story.

Equipped with a 3.2-inch Retina display, this device boasts of an 8MP primary camera to click images and record HD videos as well. It has also been embedded with a dual core A5 processor for graphics and better task management.

Currently, the 16GB version of this handset is being offered by network carriers like AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless for a price of $199. The 32GB and 64GB variants can be picked for $299 and $399, respectively. On the other hand, the unlocked handset can be bought at $649 for 16GB internal memory.

A new report by 9to5Mac has noted that when roaming away from C Spire in the U.S., customers of this carrier switch to Sprint or Verizon, which employ the same EV-DO 3G network. While offering the smartphone at subsidized rates, the said first mentioned service provider has managed to maintain the same plan rates.

The 16GB C Spire iPhone 4S can be availed of for a price of $149.99 with a 2-year agreement. The tags of the 32GB and 64GB handsets have also been slashed by $50.
