BlackBerry Z10 and Curve 9220 made available in India via EMI schemes

BlackBerry has entered the battle to lure customers through its EMI schemes for the Z10 and the Curve 9220 in India, even as the conglomerate allows buyers to pay the price at regular intervals. Seeing as Apple and Samsung began trying their lucks with these schemes a few months ago, is it possible that the BB maker is a little late in the race?

Even so, the manufacturer has restricted the scheme only to the BlackBerry Z10 and Curve 9220, unlike the two companies which have laid down as many smartphones on the table as they possibly can. Ever since Apple’s installment plans kicked off, they have requested that buyers lay claim over the devices only after parting with an upfront cost. The BB maker however, has chosen to go ahead with a Samsung-like offer instead.

People intending to purchase the handsets through this plan will not have to shell out a single buck as down payment or processing charge. The scheme doesn’t even demand an interest in return. But what can be considered as a drawback apart from the limited option in phones, is the number of plans which the manufacturer has to proffer. Each of the devices has been stapled to one deal only.

The first BB10 smartphone which has been pegged at approximately Rs 42,500 in stores around the country can be picked up in exchange of a monthly payment of Rs 4,799 for 9 months. Similarly, customers will have spill out Rs 799 per month for a year to buy the entry-level handset.

In addition to this, Idea users eyeing these gadgets should note that they can obtain a 1-year unlimited data plan at roughly Rs 1,000, on purchase. However, only those living in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh will be able to avail of this perquisite.

Curve 9220

The BlackBerry Z10 has been made available in India through Flipkart which has also offered EMI plans on the handset, along with putting it up for sale at the given price. Those buying the phone through the e-retailer will be exposed to more schemes than one. Also, tagging along with the package will be a transcend 16GB memory card. Even though the Curve 9220 is available through the online outlet, the deal resembles the original one.
