Just a couple of weeks ago we had penned a post on the BlackBerry Torch 9800 coming through Orange UK. Well, it seems as if the citizens of UK are going to witness a bit of healthy competition as another carrier is coming with the same smartphone. Vodafone has tweeted about the BlackBerry Torch 9800 hitting the shelves in UK by mid-September. This beauty features a slider and the much awaited BlackBerry 6.
“We plan on getting the Blackberry Torch mid-September if you’d like to get it a little sooner with faster data speeds”, as stated by the Vodafone tweet.
The BlackBerry Torch features a 5MP camera with AF coupled with functions such as image stabilization, scene modes, geo-tagging and zoom. It runs on a 624 MHz processor and has a 4GB memory. The Torch is fitted with a portrait-sliding QWERTY keypad and an optical trackpad. Loading a 3.2” HVGA touchscreen display, users can record videos in a 640 x 480p resolution.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is slated for a mid-September release through Vodafone UK. Mobile aficionados waiting to check out the upgraded features of the new BlackBerry OS may want to lay their hands on what is touted to be the first handset to operate on it.
