BlackBerry Q10 price surfaces in UK, up for pre-order via multiple retailers

Price details for the BlackBerry Q10 in the UK have emerged through multiple e-retailers, with £529.98 being the starting amount. Unlocked Mobiles is accepting pre-orders at the aforementioned sum and they have even provided a specific release date of April 26 for the initial stock.

The Q10 is the second handset in the latest line-up that comes with the BB10 OS which the company has introduced to regain lost ground in the smartphone market. The first phone in the series is the Z10, which has already been launched in the UK and other regions. Unlike its sibling, the device in question brings forth a QWERTY keyboard and also encloses a touchscreen which is reminiscent of the company’s earlier designs. Presumably, the maker wouldn’t want to lose out on its customers who have been loyal because of the physical keypad.

Armed with the latest version of the platform, the device depends on a dual core processor that brings in a clock speed of 1.5GHz to carry out functions. What’s more, the manufacturer has included 2GB of RAM. The handset makes room for a 2100mAh battery and 16GB of storage for addressing users’ hoarding requirements. Further expansion of memory is also possible via the microSD card slot. The features in the OS that have been the talk of the town comprise of Balance, Hub, Remember and BBM with video chat as well as Screen Share.

WLAN, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G LTE are the connectivity options users can take advantage of.

The vendor however maintains a very vague stand on the launch date, stating that it would be receiving the first stock in late April. Carphone Warehouse and Expansys, on the other hand, have just put the handset up for pre-order and have revealed that they are not aware of an official asking amount as yet.
