The all new Bicom playGo AP1 is a homebird, unlike peripherals ideal for on-the-go audiophiles. It is an AirPlay receiver that reels out music from iPhones or iPads on to stereo systems wirelessly. The gear connects to large audio players over a home network using Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

This eliminates the need for specialized apps or cables for audio streaming, as the experience is completely cordless. Potential users can also listen to their playlists pulled together using apps like Spotify, iTunes, Rhapsody and Pandora.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the playGo AP1 results. We love the ability to walk into our homes with our iPhone and effortlessly continue listening to the same song on our home stereo that had just been on our headphones. The fact that we do not lose sound clarity is also something that we appreciate,” commented Ekin Binal, lead product designer of playGo at Bicom.

Moreover, the quality of music blaring out via AP1 is touted to be ‘lossless.’ In other words, the file format of the original audio is conserved to reproduce clarified acoustics. It can be paired with iOS devices for improved audio output while watching movies or playing games. Additionally, the accessory carries built-in USB for supporting old iOS devices along with DLNA compatibility for streaming content on larger screens.

The Bicom playGo AP1 price is expected to be marked at $275. It is currently up on Kickstarter for reaching its goal of $150,000 by July 5.
