BBM 2.6 for Android, iOS and BlackBerry brings group stickers and a much more

Blackberry has announced the launch of a new BBM 2.6 version of its messenger app for its very own smartphones as well as those running on the Android and iOS systems. The main new addition to this software is the ability to post stickers to your group chats, and these are currently being sold at cheaper rates than normal.

Stickers were introduced to its instant messaging app by BlackBerry not too long ago, and they’ve gone on to become a huge part of the overall experience of this app. Sold through the BBM Shop, such stickers have now become an integral part of most IM services, and recently, they even invaded the comments section of Facebook much to the dislike of those who despise them.

Back in November, BlackBerry introduced the ability to send timed messages which get deleted following a particular interval after the recipient opens them. Listening to fan requests, the makers of BBM have increased the length of the timer on these messages to 60 seconds. Not only that; such messages and pictures can now be seen by the recipient multiple times until the timer expires.

BlackBerry developers have embraced the newest versions of Android and iOS through this fresh version of its messenger. Design updates to make the app feel at home on iOS 8 devices have made their way into it, while support for the 5.0 Lollipop version of Android has also been granted, apart from a new landscape mode meant for horizontal viewing.
