Mobile phone will soon make traveling easy. The members of the Association of Train Operating Companies unveiled an easy way to buy tickets. Now the train travelers can purchase their journey ticket from their mobile device itself.

The news seems so relaxing because now you will no longer wait in long queues for taking the journey ticket. The system utilizes the Masabi’s specialized mobile phone barcode system, the java application that stores credit card details locally. Buying your journey ticket will now be just few steps away. Just type in your destination station, departure station and a 3-digit CW card code and soon you will get your trip ticket on your mobile phone. It is a simple way to buy ticket if you are late.

“Once you send your text message to purchase your ticket, you will receive a response with a barcode reference, which can be scanned by inspectors,” says Ben Wittaker of Masabi.

You do not need to sign-up to take the advantage of this service. You can book your ticket by sending a SMS or by data connection. The user will not be charged any extra amount for it. If something goes wrong with the system it will use the US government certified security encryption. The new barcodes containing the sufficient ticket information will allow an alternate system to validate the tickets.

The system is already been trialed on National Express, Chiltern Railways and Heathrow Express. Its price detail is still unclear.
