For people who tend to drop their handsets frequently, having the right kind of case to protect the devices sounds like a good idea. BlackBerry, HTC, Motorola, and Samsung phones can now look forward to being enveloped in the new Ballistic Hard Core (HC) and Ballistic Shell Gel (SG) cases.

The HC case should be durable enough since it integrates five layers of advanced protection. It is designed as per military specifications and falls into the category of a rugged case. With the SG, there is protection for the phone in a slimmer form factor.

The outermost soft rubber (TPU) layer for shock absorption is integrated with the middle polycarbonate layer for impact resistance. The combined effect of these two layers can help prevent everyday damage to the phone. The innermost layer which is made of soft silicone with strong ballistic corners absorbs the shock of a drop.

“Since its inception, the Ballistic brand has focused on offering the ultimate protection for smartphones. By offering the different series (Hard Core and Shell Gel) to a wide variety of smartphone users, we’re following our mission of producing cases that are guaranteed to survive life!,” commented Adam Stubin, VP of Business Development, Ballistic.

Samsung Infuse users can get the two cases at AT&T retail locations. The SG wraps for Blackberry Bold, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Incredible 2 and Motorola Atrix are available with various retailers and e-tailers across the nation. These can also be purchased online at goballisticcase.com.

The HC cases for the HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Incredible 2, and Motorola Atrix will be up for grabs from June through the same website as well as other stores in the U.S. The Ballistic Shell Gel is being sold at $34.99, while the Ballistic Hard Core is priced at $49.99.
