Motorola’s stylish Android-powered Atrix 4G is touted to be one of the most advanced smartphones on AT&T’s network. To ensure it provides owners with an enhanced performance, AT&T and Motorola have introduced a new software update which effectively brings the device to firmware version 4.1.83.

According to the official Motorola support page, this update release will be rolled out to all existing AT&T Motorola Atix 4G handsets. Once this is downloaded and installed, users can expect increased data speeds with limited interruptions when surfing the web. The new flavor of the software is touted to proffer enhanced incoming and outgoing call functionalities, reduced screen freezes and an improved Happenings Widget for viewing updates on social networking sites.

The other performance improvements provided by the v4.1.83 of firmware include, instant e-mail notifications and superior audio quality for Skype. Users will also be able to send out Yahoo e-mails via a Wi-Fi connection and receive international roaming warning messages.

The AT&T Motorola 4G Atrix owners will receive a message stating that the update is available. All they have to do is simply follow the on-screen instructions for easy installation. Alternatively, users can go to the settings menu, click on ‘About Phone’, then system updates to check for updates.
