AT&T DataConnect Pass offers multiple packages

At And T LogoTo offer a unique customized experience to its consumers, AT&T brings DataConnect Pass, a valuable pay-as-you-need-it data service with seamless access to 3G network. Users can avail of the day, week and month service with a laptop or a netbook that is broadly compatible with AT&T’s wireless network.

Users can enjoy several services of DataConnect Pass as it is self-provisioned and accessible from any Internet connection. DataConnect Pass delivers several packages of mobile data ideal for users always on the move like professionals, travelers and vacationers looking out for customized data access. DataConnect Pass offers packages that can be purchased in advanced for one day, one week or one month. The DataConnect Day Pass offers 75MB of data usage for $15. Users preferring the weekly service can opt for the DataConnect Week Pass that delivers 250MB of data usage for $30. Users need to shell out $50 for the DataConnect Month Pass that provides 500MB of data.

“This is about choice and flexibility — giving our customers more ways to match their own data needs, on their own time and with their own budget,” said Mark Collins, senior vice president-Voice and Data Products, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We want our network to be open, accessible and useful in a way that accommodates unique customer needs. DataConnect Pass is another way consumers can customize the AT&T experience.”

As it is compatible with netbooks and laptops certified by AT&T, pre-requisites needed to activate the DataConnect Pass are an un-activated SIM card from any AT&T retail location, credit or debit card details along with a complete consumer profile at att.com/buy session. Users just need to insert their SIM card in the compatible laptop or netbook, access Internet via an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection, open att.com/buysession and follow the procedure.

New users need to create a username and password, offer their SIM card and device’s serial number, fill the billing information and choose their specific data plan. After purchasing the session, data usage is immediately activated. Users are also informed through text and email messages once in 30 minutes or when 20 percent of assigned data usage is left in their session. When users receive such reminders, they can purchase more time or let the session expire completely.

AT&T DataConnect Pass supports only data usage and fails to support SMS, MMS, or voice calls. DataConnect Pass is created for AT&T network use only and offers service within the United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
