AT&T announces 5 new Android smartphones at the CTIA

AT&T Five Android Phones On the occasion of the CTIA 2011 in San Diego, AT&T took the opportunity to announce 5 new Android smartphones. The line-up includes the Motorola Atrix 2, Samsung Captivate Glide, Samsung DoubleTime, Pantech Pocket and AT&T Avail.

The Samsung DoubleTime is the only one in the line-up which employs the almost outmoded Android 2.2 Froyo while the rest work on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. This Samsung device sports a dual touchscreen along with a full flip out QWERTY keypad. Drenched in white and pink, it features a 3.2MP camera with camcorder, voice recognition feature, dedicated function key for shortcuts, drag-and-drop widgets, five scrolling home screens, and more.

Next in line, the Motorola Atrix 2 flaunts a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen display along with an 8MP camera and LED flash. Running on a 1GHz dual-core processor, the external memory of this device is expandable up to 32GB. The Pantech Pocket comes with a 5MP camera and is 4G enabled. This device with a 4-inch touch display offers an external memory of up to 32GB as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Samsung Captivate Glide seems a suitable option for it has a 1.3MP front facing video calling camera supporting an 8MP main one. It displays visuals on a 4-inch super AMOLED touchscreen and is powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 AP20H dual core processor. The AT&T Avail is a pre-paid Android smartphone by ZTE with a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen and a 5MP rear camera. This Wi-Fi capable device provides an option of up to 7 customizable homescreens.

The availability and pricing details of these Android smartphones from AT&T have not been revealed yet.
