One of the upcoming tablets to look forward to in the New Year is the freshly unveiled Archos 70b internet tablet. Powered by the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, the slate sports a sleek and trim design.

The Archos 70b which is touted to be the most affordable Android 3.2 tablet, is powered by a 1.2GHz processor and comes incorporated with a 3D graphics accelerator. The slate is equipped with 512MB of RAM and offers users access to more than 2,50,000 applications including a variety of games, books, social media and news content via the Android Market.

Owners can store loads of content, as the slate claims to pack in 8GB internal memory. They can also expand the memory capacity up to 32GB through the microSD card slot. According to the company, the mobile device is noted to be a successor to the Archos 70 internet tablet. It is embedded with a 1024 x 600p high resolution capacitive touchscreen and even offers Wi-Fi connectivity.

This newly introduced Archos device comes preloaded with various apps such as a web browser and email application. It claims to deliver smooth multitasking and speedier internet surfing. Users of this tablet will supposedly be allowed to enjoy more intuitive navigation to and from homescreens. Moreover, it offers support for HDMI output so that owners can make the most of the Android experience on their TV with pre-loaded apps, video playback, 3D games, pictures and all the Android Market apps.

The Archos 70b internet tablet is set to be available from January 2012 in the U.S. for a price of $199 or £180.
