The countdown to the new iPad commercial release has begun. The latest Apple slate is all geared up to make its presence felt in the U.S. and nine other countries at the same time.

Apart from the U.S. and including areas like Puerto Rico as well as the Virgin Islands, the list of nations where the third generation tablet will be launched in its first phase includes the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Canada, Germany, France and Singapore. Enthusiastic individuals can grab it at 8:00 a.m. local time on March 16, 2012.

At the time of the unveiling of this gadget, Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, had mentioned, “The new iPad redefines the category Apple created less than two years ago, delivering the most amazing experience people have ever had with technology. The new iPad now has the highest resolution display ever seen on a mobile device with 3.1 million pixels, delivering razor sharp text and unbelievable detail in photos and videos.”

The tab is available for purchase in the U.S. through Apple retail stores as also, other sales channels like Sam’s Club, Target, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Walmart. The next phase of the rollout will see the device reaching Hungary, Iceland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Macau on March 23. The list continues with Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

The new iPad prices for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi only models are $499, $599 and $699, respectively. The same memory capacity options for the Wi-Fi + 4G variants are being made available for purchase at $629, $729 and $829, respectively.
