Apple iPhone 5 release date for China announced, new iPad, iPad mini on their way

The iPhone 5 release date in China has been revealed and Wi-Fi versions of the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad will be coming to the nation this month, Apple has announced. At present, the iPhone 5 is available in 47 countries, while the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad with Retina display can be found in 42 markets around the globe.

The mini is 23 percent thinner and weighs 53 percent less than the third generation iPad and comes with a smaller 7.9-inch multi-touch display. In addition, FaceTime HD and 5MP iSight cameras find a place on the device, while the company claims really quick wireless performance and 10 hours of battery life.

On the other hand, and not giving up on its standard tablet model, the fourth generation iPad made its way into Apple’s lineup sporting a 9.7-inch Retina display. Internally, its power comes from the new A6X chip, and it also benefits from a FaceTime HD camera as well as the same swift performance mentioned above. Both the new slates run on the company’s latest operating system, iOS 6.

Now coming to the iPhone 5, Apple says it has been completely redesigned to feature a new 4-inch Retina display. It is taller than the 4 and the 4S and so far has had a few issues not only with its propriety maps software, but also with its camera flaring. It also comes with iOS 6 which apparently has more than 200 new features after counting in an all-new Maps app, Shared Photo Streams and greater Siri functionality.

Apple hasn’t revealed Chinese prices of the aforementioned devices and subsequently it is unclear whether each one of the different storage capacity models will be moving overseas. But the Cupertino-based company says it will start accepting requests for reservation on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in China.

Fourth Gen iPad

Wi-Fi versions of the fourth generation iPad and the iPad mini will touch down in China on December 7, while the iPhone will be made available a week later, on December 14. Orders can be placed daily at Apple’s online and retail stores, and with select retailers, for pickup the following day.
