If you have been eagerly waiting for the iPad Air to release in India, you will be glad to know that Apple has decided to bring the gadget to the country on December 7, that’s later this week. But as of now, only the launch date has been revealed, there’s still no word on how much the device will cost you. Apple’s authorized dealers, Redignton and Ingram Micro, have scheduled an event that will mark the debut of the tablet in the subcontinent this Saturday.
The latest generation iPad that comes in shades of space gray and silver, is considerably thinner and lighter than its immediate predecessor. The device comes in variants with only Wi-Fi and cellular + Wi-Fi versions and will be made available in memory configurations of 16GB, 32G, 64GB and 128GB. It comes packed in an exterior that measures 240 x 169.5 x 7.5 millimeters.
Its front side is dominated by a 9.7-inch IPS LED-backlit multi-touch display that has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels as well as a 1.2MP FaceTime HD camera. The flip side hosts a 5MP primary snapper that boasts of features like auto focus, face detection, backside illumination and more. It features Bluetooth 4.0 and gains steam from the A7 chip that is based on the 64-bit architecture. The M7 motion coprocessor also accompanies the SoC.
As we said, nothing has been revealed about the iPad Air price details for India, but in the US, the gadget is priced anywhere between $499 and $929. We are expecting the company to let out these details at the launch event.
