It seems that Apple will not just accept Google Maps as a standalone utility, and the expected iOS 6 YouTube app has now done a disappearing act. This means that the default video streaming utility seen on the mobile browser before will not be included in the new OS version and it will be replaced by a separate utility to be downloaded via iTunes.

The exact reason for such a move is not clear, though it appears that Cupertino’s license to use Google’s app has expired. Nevertheless, fans need not not be disheartened as the company apparently promises that it would definitely welcome a standalone utility for its mobile OS in question. This piece of news broke out via 9to5Mac which found this application to be missing from the iOS 6 beta.

As mentioned on The Verge, the end output for Apple users should be better than what’s been a standard till date. Google has officially confirmed to the website that they are indeed working towards optimizing the video streaming app for iOS 6 devices.

According to an update by Engadget, Apple users will be able to use the application on the Safari browser. And anyway, the forthcoming tool will be introduced in the App Store. The older iOS devices will still incorporate the same utility.

For now, the exact Apple OS release date is not clear, though it is expected to be launched sometime in October. When it lands on the scene, we can expect a standalone iOS 6 YouTube application.
