Those who love traditional cards and messages but have no time to spare for actually creating them by hand can find reason to cheer with the freshly declared Apple Cards app. This iPhone app allows users to craft pretty, customized cards from their smartphones.

iPhone users can creat these cards by simply capturing any picture they wish to send and add their message for lending a personal touch. The app transforms the photo and the text into an authentic looking letterpress card for sending to loved ones.

The cards, designed on premium cotton paper, employ a centuries-old printing method which presses a design and ink into each one for a unique look and texture. They can be exchanged between anyone in the world for a price of $4.99, while users residing in USA who wish to send cards to others residing in their nation will be charged $2.99 per card.

Users can create their 4” x 6” letterpress cards by browsing through the application’s 21 letterpress designs. They are allowed to choose any picture from the web or take one on their own. This app is said to be great for those short on time and connect with others while on the move.

The app enables cards to be sent to multiple recipients and automatically saves users’ orders in card history. Storing previous orders in the history reportedly saves users’ time and they only have to choose a card, duplicate it and send it across by mail. Merely providing the address of the recipient is enough and users do not have to search for a stamp or envelope as the company takes care of it all.

The Apple Cards app will be available at the App Store from October 12.
