Android-enabled HTC Desire makes its way to Malaysia

HTC seems to be keeping to its tradition of giving mobile enthusiasts something different and this time its users in Malaysia that should get excited. The company reveals the entry of the HTC Desire phone into the Malaysian mobile market. A glance through the advanced feature list of this Android-powered handset should make it all the more ‘desirable’ among users.

Bundled with the HTC Sense experience, the phone helps users get a personalized view of content. Appearing to be one of the most dynamic and user friendly phones, it also delivers easy ways to stay in touch and interact with friends and colleagues.

This handset has a 3.7 inch AMOLED display with sharp contrast and true colors while the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor makes the phone more responsive. Simplifying the phone’s functionality, HTC Sense allows users to gain an intuitive experience by giving a natural feel to the browser, email client and others. It has a new newsreader application which gives updates on the latest news. It also has a new seven screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail for easy access to specific screens.

There’s an added new HTC application and widget called Friend Stream too which aggregates all social communications like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr into one organized flow of updates. This helps users to focus on their personal lives and view images of their friends and the links that they share. The phone further allows users to make groups of different social circles like friends or colleagues.

This handset is now available at any of the 28 Maxis centers nationwide and at selected Maxis exclusive partners at a subsidized price of RM 1499 with contract. The retail units of the HTC Desire are expected to be available at a price of RM 2199 from June 24, 2010. Enthusiastic users can also gain a first hand experience of this latest handset at the Maxis- HTC Desire roadshow that ends tomorrow.
