The Airtel iPhone 5 India launch has been announced and the phone with a starting price of Rs. 45,500, has hit availability status. The latest generation Apple smartphone was already up for pre-order through this service provider and even via a few online retailers in the country.
The carrier in question stocks up on the handset’s 16GB, 32GB as well as 64GB variants. But it is available only in the black and slate shade. Customers who have already reserved it are likely to receive the device in the next 5 to 7 days. Compatible with Airtel’s HSPA+ and DC-HSPA networks, it can be purchased along with multiple data plans.
As for the specifications of this phone, the Apple device has been blessed with a 4-inch multi-touch Retina display of 800:1 contrast ratio that can render visuals in 1136 x 640p resolution. A 1.2MP front-facing camera lets users make FaceTime calls, while an 8MP iSight camera facilitates capturing images and videos.
A dual core A6 chipset takes care of the internal working of the iPhone 5 and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery works towards providing talk time of up to 8 hours in the 3G mode or web browsing time of up to 10 hours over Wi-Fi. Additionally, it runs on the iOS 6 platform.
The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants of the iPhone 5 are priced at Rs. 45,500, Rs. 52,500 and Rs. 59,500, respectively.
