Acer is all set to enter the smartphone market. Apparently, it will introduce its first smartphone in 2009.
The device will be developed by Acer’s smartphone R&D team and its counterparts from E-Ten.
Details of the phone’s model number are not yet available. E-Ten will use its years of experience in developing Windows Mobile smartphone.
So it’s likely that Acer will use the Windows operating system for its first smartphone. Acer will continue its smartphone business and the company says that there will be a significant growth in company in coming 3 to 5 years.
As of today, no availability and pricing details are known. Feature and function of the phone are also not known. Acer’s smartphone will first hit in Russia and then Western Europe. The smartphone will make its debut in Q1 2009.
