AT&T recently introduced its most popular Navigator Application for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. This launch would enable millions of iPhone customers to experience turn-by-turn GPS navigation applications for the first time. The app operates on the iPhone OS 3.0 software that offers premium audible and visual turn-by-turn navigation service.

“AT&T Navigator has been one of our most popular and best-performing apps since we launched it last year. With the new iPhone OS 3.0 software, we’re expanding the advantages of true turn-by-turn navigation – both voice and on-screen directions – to millions more customers. We’re bringing greater convenience to drivers and travelers nationwide, including providing regular, automatic updates to map information at no charge so customers have the latest at their fingertips,” commented Mark Collins, vice president of voice and data products for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

The app is geared with advanced functionalities and provides a series of user-friendly features. It provides users with map updates, speech recognition, ETA updates, real-time traffic alerts, one-touch rerouting, daily gas prices along with 10 million business listings from yellow pages and many others. The app makes available latest map and navigating details automatically to its subscribers for free. Moreover it offers real-time voice and visual guidance, providing street names, automatic re-routes, ETA and total mileage updates. Drivers can also opt for multiple route options, including ‘traffic optimized’, ‘fastest’, ‘prefer streets’, ‘prefer highways’ and ‘pedestrian mode’ to guarantee a highly customized navigation experience. The touch and talk capability offers instantaneous turn-by-turn directions to destinations.

Providing real-time route monitoring and upbeat searches every five minutes, the app has been designed for handling traffic congestion or incidents. It also encompasses voice and on-screen alerts along with closer route options. The app sports full-color 3D moving map making the navigation experience lively. The maps provide details on current location, plus streets and interstates within driving distance. Moreover users can benefit from the handy rest stops for gas, food and other needs along their current route, saving both time and mileage. Now users can also pre-plan trips, store addresses and handle travel accounts online. Additionally, they can save locations and send directions instantly to the iPhone.

For AT&T Navigator subscriptions on devices other than the iPhone, the app will be billed directly by AT&T and included on the customer’s monthly statement. The app is priced at $9.99 a month for the iPhone and iPod touch and is available from Apple’s App Store.
