Angry Birds, as a game barely needs any introduction. We already know how much handset owners love it, as on Android itself Rovio witnessed a million downloads the very first day. Rovio has converted the medium of Twitter to start-up interesting conversations with their gamers, rather than merely announcing updates or sending publicity tit bits.
The hot topic currently on Rovio’s Twitter page is about a Christmas variant of this fun filled game. Phandroid has compiled several conversations together, completing the entire picture. Two important facets of this picture are, firstly that Angry Birds has managed to cross the 7 million milestone. Secondly, we hear that a snow filled Christmas version will soon be up on the Android Market and the App Store.
Looks like the fact that Angry Birds is free on Android has not gone down well with some users thus they questioned the developer about the reason behind it. To which Rovio responded stating that’s the ‘Google way’. On being further prodded about the fact that several games on Android are paid, the company very coyly added ‘true, but the ones with more than 50K downloads are… We just hit 7M downloads on Android.’
Well in what appears to be just one and a half month, the company has received 7 million downloads. That surely appears to be a gigantic feat! Coming back to the Christmas variant, it seems to be most likely coming out soon. Those gearing up for this year’s white washed holiday season, now have an enticing treat for themselves packed in by Rovio.
