Xiaomi Mi Band gets sold out in seconds through yet another flash sale

The Xiaomi Mi Band had its second flash sale earlier today and it ended in just about 22 seconds with the entire stock selling out. The fitness accessory has been a hit in India mainly for the features it offers at a very affordable price, but things might not always stay this way for it.

Micromax’s Yu startup launched its own fitness band called YuFit which offers features similar to what the Xiaomi Mi Band delivers and for the same retail tag of Rs 999. Well, the latter accessory does have the upper hand mainly since it has a more rugged design which is water- and dust-resistant. Then again, the former has an OLED display, while the device in question packs LED indicators.

The Mi Band also features an aluminum alloy core with a hypoallergenic silicone band. It connects to your smartphone via the dedicated application through which you can monitor everything from your sleep patterns to fitness records. You’ll also be able to share results with others on social networks.

The accessory even works as an identification tool for unlocking your Xiaomi handset. It has a built-in vibratory which alerts you of incoming calls and also acts as an alarm to wake you up in a gentle manner. Best of all, the device offers battery life of up to 30 days on a single charge.

Today’s sale of the Xiaomi device was the first time it was made available at full retail. Sadly, the company hasn’t revealed exactly how many units were up for grabs and we don’t even know what inventory will be offered for the upcoming flash sale next Tuesday. Speaking of which, registrations for it will commence from tomorrow at 2pm.

The Xiaomi Mi Band is available exclusively though the company’s Mi India website.
