LG starts global rollout of 3G and LTE-supporting Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy phones

Back in February, LG went on to unveil a set of four mid-range smartphones named Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy which it will be entering the market with this year. Equipped with the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and either 3G or LTE support, these handsets have just been granted a global rollout by the South Korean manufacturer.

They will begin their journey in South America, and will then make their way into European, Asian, Middle East African and North American territories. There’s no word on when these LG offerings will be launched in India, however, we’re expecting that to happen sometime during this April.

LG Mid-Range Phones

The Magna handset features a 5-inch 720p HD monitor, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. Its 3G variant bears a 1.3GHz quad core CPU, while its LTE model goes for a 1.2GHz quad core unit. 8GB of storage (expandable), 1GB of RAM and a 2540mAh battery form its other offerings.

The Spirit smartphone from LG on the other hand, kicks in a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, apart from an 8MP rear snapper and a 5MP front one (1MP in some markets). The processor and memory setup is same as that of the two Magna models, but its battery is a bit underpowered at 2100mAh.

Coming to the Leon, this new gadget benefits from a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, and offers 1.3GHz (3G) or 1.2GHz (LTE) of quad core processing prowess. Depending on markets, there will either be 8GB or 4GB of expandable storage and 1GB or 768MB of RAM. A 1900mAh battery powers it from within.

Last among these four smartphones is the LG Joy which only comes in the form of a 3G model. It carries onboard a 4-inch display, a 1.2GHz dual core CPU, a 5MP fixed focus rear camera, a VGA front snapper, 4GB of storage (expandable), 512MB of RAM and a 1900mAh battery.

We’ll have more on these mid-range LG handsets and their all-important prices when news about their arrival in India is out in the open.
