The Gionee Elife S7 is the newest flagship smartphone from the Chinese OEM and it continues the trend of sporting a super slim design. The latest releases, however, isn’t going to be breaking any records, not even the ones set by the company itself.
The previous addition in the series was the Elife S5.1 which is 5.1mm thin. This phone lost the world’s thinnest title to the 4.85mm Vivo X5 Max and the new Gionee Elife S7 flagship isn’t going after the crown. Instead, it focuses on delivering a slim look without compromising too much on hardware. And the company has managed to do quite a bit to make the phone all the more attractive compared to its slimmer sibling.
The new Gionee handset is 5.5mm thick and it weighs 126 grams. The phone looks pretty similar to its predecessors, but there are a few visual modifications onboard. Firstly, the company has moved to virtual onscreen navigation buttons instead of physical capacitive ones and the sides now feature a ‘u’ shaped look made from aviation-grade alloy.
Coming to the hardware, the Elife S7 houses a Gorilla Glass 3 coated 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display and an 8MP camera on the front. The rear also looks to be covered in glass and it flaunts a 13MP shooter with an LED flash. On the inside, there’s a large 2750mAh battery with an octa core processor powering things up.

The biggest downside of the Gionee Elife S7 is its price which is €399. The smartphone is scheduled to make its debut in India on April 3 and it should retail for around Rs 28000 to Rs 30000.
