Lava Iris 470 and Iris 350 Android smartphones go on sale in India

The Lava Iris 350 smartphone which popped up last week as well as the Iris 470 handset have been made available for purchase in India through an ecommerce website. Both devices fall in the super affordable category carrying prices of under Rs 4500.

The Lava Iris 350 is the cheaper of the two phones and it’s selling for just Rs 2999. The handset is a basic option carrying bare minimum specs required to run Android. Speaking of which, you get version 4.4.2 KitKat which is powered by a 1GHz single core processor. The memory provisions are also the lowest they could get at 256MB RAM and 512MB internal storage.

You will, however, have access to 32GB memory expansion via a microSD card slot. The phone has dual SIM support and a 1400mAh battery that can deliver around 12 hours of talk time which is the highest we’ve seen on a handset so cheap. Other features of the Lava handset include a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front snapper.

The Iris 470 has slightly better hardware, but runs on an older version of Android. Jelly Bean 4.2.2 is what you get for the Rs 4399 you’ll be spending and the display size here is 4.5 inches with FWVGA resolution. The handset also packs a dual core processor for a smoother experience.
