Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet introduced in India priced at Rs 49990, available online

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is soon to be officially launched in India at a price of Rs 49990, but it’s already available for purchase online through an e-retailer. Infibeam currently has the device in stock, while the company’s official website has listed it along with the said price sans any release date information.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet’s arrival in India was made obvious by the company’s official Twitter account. Numerous posts about the slate were published over the past few days. All that’s left is for Sony to officially launch the device. What’s interesting is that company’s website notes that it will have 4G support onboard. However, after digging into the specs, there’s no information about compatible LTE radios.

No information about 4G can be found on the retailer’s website either. Nevertheless, the SGP521 model does have LTE, but it may not be supported in India. The Z2 Tablet will go up against the 2K touting Galaxy Tab S series from Samsung which was launched today itself for Rs 44800 (10.5-inch model).

The key highlight of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is its robust design which comprises of a lightweight form factor and a slim look of just 6.4mm. The Z2 is also water- and dust-resistant. Then there is the high-end hardware it has to offer including a 10.1-inch display of WUXGA 1920 x 1200p resolution.
