Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ will be exclusive to online retailer Flipkart at launch

Alcatel is adding another product to its growing portfolio of smartphones in India, the One Touch Idol X+, and it will launch in a couple of days. The company has started sending out press invites for the launch, which denotes that the handset will go on sale exclusively through Flipkart that’s currently the only retailer selling the widely popular Motorola Moto E phone.

The One Touch Idol X+ is a high-end phone, but it isn’t the first from the company to reach Indian soil. Its predecessor, the 5-inch Idol X and the 6-inch Hero 8020A have been on sale for a long time now. The smartphone in question was launched at the CES 2014 along with the mid-range Pop C9. The handset dons a 5-inch display surrounded by slim bezels.

The panel employed here offers 1080p visuals at 440ppi pixel density and is coated with Corning Dragontrail Glass. Accompanying the display is a 2MP camera, while the rear sports a 13MP shooter. Fitted within the 7.9mm thick design is a 2GHz octa core processor based on the Cortex A7, 2GB of RAM and options of 16GB and 32GB of storage. Disappointment comes knowing that the phone has no microSD card slot and it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It does, however, offer dual SIM support.

The price for the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ is still a mystery, but we wouldn’t expect it to sell for over Rs 25,000.
