Now users can also save money with the numerous range of calling plans and services provided with these added devices. The company has expanded its portfolio with 11 additional Nokia handsets that will offer its service.

Now 26 Nokia handsets are providing this service including the recently added 11 new devices. Out of the total number, the software of 14 can be currently downloaded through Nokia’s Ovi store while the remaining 12 will soon be in the store. Apart from the store, this service on all 26 devices can be downloaded as an SMS over the air from the website. These services will be available on the website as well as through the Ovi store.

“We first introduced Truphone on a Nokia device so we are pleased to be able to increase the range of compatible Nokia devices and extend our loyal Nokia customer base further. Nokia is still the largest mobile handset manufacturer in the world so ensuring that we’re on as many of these devices as possible means more and more people can take advantage of Truphone’s fantastic rates to make international calls,” stated Truphone CEO Geraldine Wilson.

The names of the phones compatible with this service are N96, N78, 5800, 5320, 6210, 6220 and 6650. VOIP enabled N85, N79 and 5630 are also included in the list. Two calling plans will be offered to users after installing and downloading the application. The first plan is called Truphone Anywhere through which customers get to make calls at a cheaper rate. Whenever calls are made through local wireless networks, they are handled as local calls and are passed to the company’s network. Following this process, callers are offered incredibly low rates for making calls to landline as well as cell phones globally. This service is applicable in the country the user resides as there is no guarantee of savings internationally. All new handsets are compatible with this service. Customers can make calls to each other for free and by paying a charge of 1.5p per minute to landlines and other mobiles.

The second plan called the Wi-Fi calling plan enables customers to access Wi-Fi hotspots anywhere in the world. Users will be able to access hotspots for free when connecting to other Truphone users and will be offered reduced rates to landline and cell phones globally. Including three new handsets namely the N85, N79 and 5630, all devices will offer this plan. Customers can call each other without any charge and also use a Nokia phone as an alternative when being connected to a Wi-Fi network. If they choose an inexpensive roaming solution they can also make calls to a Wi-Fi network from any where in the world.
