Nokia 6212 Classic will make pairing easy with a tap

Nokia 6212 Classic Nokia brings in a revolution in the Bluetooth pairing technology. The Nokia 6212 looks like a simple sleek phone, but it features the Bluetooth-enabled Near Field Communication (NFC) which allows users to transfer data files easily and conveniently.

The phone enables transferring files like photos, video, music, calendar data, contacts, etc with just a mere touch on the other phone. The Nokia 6212 Classic is expected to reach European and Asian markets by third quarter of 2008 and will be priced around €200.

“NFC-capable handsets such as the Nokia 6212 classic are set to change the way mobile phone users interact with devices and services in their surroundings,” says Jeremy Belostock, the Head of Near Field Communications, Nokia. “With the Nokia 6212 classic, people can swap items like business cards or calendar notes by simply tapping their handsets together. With ever-increasing device functions and services available, ease-of-use is essential. One way to keep things simple is NFC.”

The Nokia 6212 phone also transfers web browsers and activate application such as radio on the other phone with ease. The phone also stores credit card information and accepts Travel tickets charged over the air. To manage security of such confidential information, the phone also would require a password to use such applications on the phone.

Apart from the NFC feature, the phone’s specifications include a 2-inch QVGA display, 2MP camera, stereo FM radio, music player and an optional microSD memory card slot which accepts up to 4GB cards.
