Samsung Omnia Pro 5 B6520 to hit markets in August

Samsung Omnia Pro 5Samsung has more than the Omnia Pro 4 handset under its kitty as the company recently made public a wide array of phones. Samsung also unleashed the Omnia Pro 5 B6520 handset which like the Omnia Pro 4 is also designed to fulfill the demands of business professionals. The phone has been powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 OS.

Users can follow content on the 2.4” LQVGA screen that exhibits a 320 x 240p resolution. The phone has been fitted with a 2MP camera and supports videos H.263, H.264, WMV, DivX formats. The audio capabilities include songs that can be played in the Poly 40, SP-Midi, SMAF, MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA formats.

The navigational functionality of the device is supported by an in-built A-GPS system. Users can enjoy songs on the FM radio. The device is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR for connectivity. It incorporates a USB 2.0 HS port on the chassis and has been certified by Sybase Afaria which secures access to enterprise applications.

With a built-in memory of about 220MB, the microSD slot allows users to expand the memory up to16GB. The phone’s camera further reveals Face Detection, Smile Shot, Geo Tagging and the Sound Alive technologies. As for it network support, it extends over 3G 900/1900/2100 HSDPA 3.6 MB/s and 2G EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900.

Users can also access push e-mail, social networking sites and IM through the B6520. It also lets users obtain information required for conference or presentations through the device. The Omnia 5 runs on a 1500mAh battery and its dimensions are 116.5mm x 61.8mm x 11.5 mm.

The Samsung Omnia 5 B6520 handset is slated to be available from August across SEA, MEA regions, India and Latin America. The price of this handset is still under wraps though.
