Oppo Finder sports a 6.65mm profile, up for pre-order in China

Oppo Finder

The Oppo Finder which is apparently the world’s thinnest handset, is all set for a launch in China. However, there are some more phones like the ZTE Athena and the Huawei Ascend P1 S that are in the rat race.

In the case of the ZTE Athena, it’s a codename given to the device, which is likely to change during launch. As for the Ascend P1 S, it has not been released worldwide. This inevitably, puts the Oppo Finder a step ahead as it has hit availability status already.

Moreover, laying hands on what is being touted as the sleekest of all, at a budget-friendly price, should come as good news to fans. Running through the primary specifications, the device sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen on the front panel. A dual core processor clocking in at a frequency of 1.5GHz takes care of all the operations.

Carrying 1GB RAM, the Android 4.0 phone is equipped with 16GB internal memory. Additionally, an 8MP camera is affixed on the flip side that offers dual-LED flash and 1080p video recording capability. There’s a front-facing 1.3MP snapper supporting 720p video recording. The entire show is run by the ICS platform, which should speed up the mobile experience. Built over a profile measuring not more than 6.65mm, the ‘thinnest’ tag looks justifiable at present.

The phone can now be pre-ordered from the company’s official site for a price of $393. Pre-bookings will be closed on June 24. The Oppo Finder release date is marked at July 1.
